Ask Yourself Three Thousand Five Hundred Times
November 21, 2026 – January 9, 2027

Images repeat, yet presence interrupts their order, leaving the question unresolved.
Rooted in a 2015 encounter on a New York City subway, Ask Yourself Three Thousand Five Hundred Times examines how cultural and national identities are constructed, represented, and legitimized through institutional narratives.

The title invokes 3,500 repetitions as an invitation to question the narratives that shape our understanding of identity, history, and belonging. The work explores the tension between visibility and recognition, confronting the contradictions between America's ideals of freedom and opportunity and the realities of those whose labor sustains the country, even as their place within its national identity remains contested.
Who gets to define America, whose stories become part of its identity, and what must be forgotten, erased, or exploited to sustain that narrative?
