Lori Fish blurs the boundaries between painting and sculpture through intuitive studio play, and material experimentation. Similarly, she pushes at the edges of abstraction by combining craft, common materials and more traditional modes of contemporary art. Underlying her methodology is a deep investigation of fetish and emotional identity.

Fish was born in Brainerd Minnesota and studied in New York. She graduated from Parsons School of Design where she earned a degree in Clay, Fiber, and Metal arts. Prior to moving to Houston in 2013, she lived in Los Angeles where she established and ran Fish Studio Fiber Arts.
